Careers at Truss

Small team.
Real ownership.
Software that ships.

We're small on purpose. Most teams say "we move fast" — we mean it, and we mean it differently. We protect deep work, we don't pretend Slack is urgent, and we ship things we'd be proud to show our parents.

What it's like

A small team that actually ships.

No ladder-climbing, no "stakeholder alignment" theater, no performative urgency. We hire people who want to do their best work and we get out of their way.

Build, don't manage

Real ownership of real product surfaces from day one. No "I'll need to check with my manager." If you're hired here, your judgment is the judgment.

Calm by default

No fire drills, no "ASAP" Slacks at 9pm, no on-call rotation that ruins your weekend. We protect deep work like it's revenue. Because it is.

Ship every day

Small things, daily. Big things, weekly. We don't believe in quarterly planning theater. We believe in shipping, watching how customers use it, and shipping again.

Benefits

Treated like an adult.

We don't subsidize ping-pong tables or cold brew on tap. We give you the time and trust to live your life around your work — not the other way around.

Unlimited PTO

Take what you need. We don't track it, we don't audit it, we don't make you "use it or lose it." Founders included — we take vacation too, and we expect you to.

Sabbaticals at 5 & 10 years

A fully paid four-week sabbatical at five years. Six weeks at ten. Yours to spend however you want — travel, rest, learn something new, work on something else. We'll see you when you're back.

Volunteer Time Off

Five paid days a year to spend on something that matters to you and isn't us — the food bank, the school board, that nonprofit you've been meaning to help. We'll cover the time.

Maternity & paternity leave

Sixteen weeks fully paid for either parent — birth, adoption, or fostering. Take it in one stretch or split it across the first year. Come back when you're ready, not when the clock runs out.

Award-winning culture

We've put real work into building a place worth staying. Kind, curious people. Plain language. No performative urgency, no "rockstar" hiring, no weekend Slack. People who join Truss tend to stick around.

Plus everything you'd expect

Health, dental, vision. Real equity. Home-office stipend. Learning budget. We'd rather walk you through the full sheet on a call than pad this page with bullet points.

How we hire

Four steps. Two weeks, tops.

No multi-month gauntlet, no twelve-round panel, no whiteboard riddles about manhole covers. We respect your time and we want you to respect ours.

Step 1
30-min coffee chat
A founder, you, and a real conversation. What you've built, what you want to build, what we're working on. No "tell me about a time you…" questions.
Step 2
Deep dive on your craft
A two-hour working session — you walk us through something you've shipped, we ask questions, you ask us anything. We hire for taste and judgment, not trivia.
Step 3
A short, paid trial
One to two days of real Truss work, paid at your full rate. You see what working here actually feels like. We see how you actually think.
Step 4
Yes / no, within a week
A real answer with real reasons, either way. If it's a yes, we get you an offer same-day. If it's a no, you know why and what would change it.
Open roles

Hiring kind, curious people. Always.

We're a two-founder team today. As we start hiring, specific roles will be listed here. In the meantime, the door's open — if any of the above resonates, get in touch.

General application
Tell us what you'd want to do here.

Engineering, design, customer success, security, ops — if you're great at what you do and the rest of this page lands, write us a few sentences and we'll figure out where it fits.

Apply Meet the founders
Get on the shortlist

A few sentences is enough.

No formal application required — but the more specific you can be about what you do well and what kind of work you'd want here, the faster we can have a useful conversation.

Or just email jobs@trussapp.co — same inbox.

Not the right time? Stay in touch anyway.

If now isn't right but the work sounds like something you'd want to be near, send us a note. We keep a list, and we reach out first when something opens up that fits.
